TaskBar at bottom disappeared

Using Win 7, 64 bit. FF and Chrome latest.Asus K series laptop

Suddenly the task bar at the bottom of the screen in all programs but not the desktop is gone. That includes FF, Chrome, Word, etc.
So I can not see what is open or running anymore unless I close them and can see the desktop.
Further at the same time my 2 finger scrolling on my trackpad has stopped functioning.
Possibly not connected but odd.
No Msft uddates in the past days and no other software added.
Anyone have an idea.

Have you checked to see if the Task Bar is locked. To do that Right Click on the Task Bar & select Properties, then make sure Lock the Task Bar is ticked & hide the Task Bar is not ticked.

Track pads are prone to problems, so you could try an eternal mouse to see if that works better, but be sure to disable the track pad if using a mouse.

Thanks Ranger but locked is checked and now the bar will come back when I roll over it at the bottom but staying up--no. Strange change from years of having it always locked there. Sort of fixed with the lock checked and having to roll over it now. Quirky issue. Monitoring for a few days.
