Taskbar moves even when locked

Hi,

I keep my taskbar at the bottom of the screen, using W7 64b, HP fully updated. It seems like occasionally I'll click on a folder on the taskbar, maybe accidentally drag and right-click, (I can't replicate how exactly), but the whole taskbar will end up getting moved to the top of the screen. I though it's not suppose to be able to move if the taskbar is locked, does someone know if it's a bug or maybe an option I can checkbox somewhere to prevent it from moving ever in the future?

-Thanks

dizzm,

I once encountered a similar situation.

Strange as it sounds, the problem was due to a defective mouse.

If you have another mouse, try using it and see if the problem goes away.

Or you can just disconnect the mouse and use your touchpad.

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
Alright, I'll see if maybe the mouse is causing the issue, but I sincerlely hope not. Had this DeathAdder 3500 for a while and it does amazing things in games for me. :)

Also, I know this is a different question.

Is there a way to prevent the icons in the taskbar (applications and folders I have open) from resizing? I would like to have them be of one size all the time instead of changing size as I close or open new ones.

-cheers

I've got a new mouse (Steelseries Xai) and it is still doing it. I did a screen capture video also so you can see exactly how it is occuring. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

This has to be a bug in Windows not my mouse or anything else.

Watch it in 720p and you'll get a good view of it and clearly see I have the taskbar 'locked' checkmarked beforehand. It also annoys me those taskbar folder popups can't go away either....

Odd. Has this happened since you've had the machine or installed windows, or did this start occurring on an existing install? Have you tried running http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html ?

Take note that if you run SFC with a switch that allows repairs, (which includes the 'scannow' switch) you will lose any hacks or changes you've made to system files. Of course, if your problem is a 'corrupt' system file, allowing repair may be your only shot at fixing the problem.

This has happened since I had the machine, which was a fresh build with Windows 7. I'm willing to bet I could make it happen on any computer. It seems to my belief that the cursor is picking up on part of the taskbar in a weird way when the task-bar folder previews pop up under the classic theme.
