I was always taught, if it's not broke it doesn't need fixing, that's been drummed into me from childhood, takes some confidence when thinking about deciding to explore.

That is a wise philosophy...for the most part, however it depends on how "broken" is defined. From my perspective, IE is definitely broken, but it is not my perspective that matters.

And yet you are doing it. I have found that in most things that appear complicated, that impression is the result of the mind not seeing the trees for the forest.

Have you tried the ZIP download in the post above, and extracting the shortcut from it to see how it works?

Opps, never noticed it, however, it's now on my taskbar!!!!!!!

I don't have a clue what I've done, I just opened the attachment at it's on my taskbar

That's great news.

Look in it's (downloaded) properties page and compare it's "Target location" to the one you had in your shortcut to see if there is a difference to see what may be wrong with the one you had created.

It's just the internet shortcut in the ZIP file download from the post above.

OK, the one on my desktop under location is: C:\Users\Us\desktop

The one under location on the zip file is: (Archive Root Directory)

Sorry Opps,

I meant for you to right click on the internet shortcut that you created and the extracted internet shortcut from the ZIP file that you downloaded above and click on Properties, then compare the Target boxes to see if there is a difference that may explain why your's did not work properly by not pinning to the taskbar.

I only have one short cut, that being the one I created on the desktop, the zip file I opened hasn't created a shortcut on my desktop (hope I'm understanding you OK )
