Taskbar or Application problem?

Hi all,

Just installed W7 today and have been trialling it all day, i have an issue with it so far. Not sure if its just me or others are having similar problem.

Problem is when i have a couple of programs open, there all appear on the taskbar but windows is still on screen. The active screen is on top of the others and when i go to select a non-active app from the taskbar it doesn't bring it in front of the current active app. The app i selected just blinks orange expecting attention.

Eg. IE8, Windows Explorer & Media Player are all loaded and IE is the active app. when i select on windows explorer from taskbar it doesn't bring it in front of IE but instead the flashes orange. I have to minimise IE to view windows explorer.

Has anyone come across this problem???

Please help.

Ive had the odd situation where Ive had to minimise the active application in order to get to the new one as I couldnt click on it.

Hi ocm, welcome to the forums.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Have you tried opening the apps in a different order? It could be that IE is set to run 'Always on Top', this shouldn't have the effect you are describing but it might be worth looking into. I'll do a bit of a settings search

I have tried loading apps in different order and also did a reboot aswell but the problem still occurs. Not sure if this is a bug or just me that is having the problem.

I have the same annoying problem And it is acting like, first click on the taskbar to change task is working, but subsequent are not... Or.. it works second time, but not with all programs... I have Firefox, Miranda, XMPLay and The Bat! as active applications now... Newest versions... So annoying
