hi,

for some unclear reason my windows 7 which i like very much stopped showing my task bar history preview. all my recent data which were all the shortcuts to recently used apps are gone, and the taskbar stopped saving new ones. I can pin new applications but when I press right click they wont show their documnets history or pinned document as they did.
Any ideas?

Sounds like you have to enable the jump list
Follow this and make sure that it is ticked or unticked per your needs

1. Right-click on the taskbar and select “Properties”.
2. In the “Taskbar and Start Menu properties” dialog box, switch to Start Menu tab.
3. Deselect the option named “Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar” to disable Jump Lists feature.
4. Click on the “Apply” button to save the changes.
5. Recheck the box to enable the same feature.

Sorry but nada - doesn't respond at all.

I should have mentioned earlier that some applications on the taskbar shows few (very old) pinned task items, but the list remains the same no matter how many new tasks\documnets\windows\instances I open.

Any Ideas?
I really enjoyed those shortcuts so please????

I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about, but ...click the down arrow in the address bar. History should be there above favorites. You can expand both lists by clicking on their arrows. Choose which one you want to open in a new window by clicking on the link, using the middle button on the mouse.

Sorry, I'm probably not clear enough.
In windows taskbar, just right of the start button I pinned many applications i.e. Word, Flash, Photoshop, explorer, chrome etc. Right click on each application used to launch a menu with pinned tasked and recently visited ones. For some reason it stopped showing these task. I only get a short menu with the basic options i.e. "close window" and "unPin this program"

on some programs I get some limited history but very old and irrelevant stuff.

Does any one have an idea why it stopped and I can I get it back on again?

I believe it is some kind of a system failure. My taskbar is working again except the (file) explorer. It just won't pin anything. other apps are pinning their recent activities but the explorer remains empty no matter how many folders I open. It also wont pin when I drag a folder to the explorer launch icon. Any ideas?
