This error message appears every time my profile loads. There is one admin profile (also mine) on this computer plus one other, and it only appears on my non-admin account:

There was a problem starting C:\Users\Bruce\AppData\Local\TBHostSupport\TBHostSupport.dll
The specified module could not be found.

I've tried many free malware/AV programs, but still no effect.

Seems it's to do with Conduit toolbar which is a browser hijacker This is from Microsoft so give it a go
Open Control Panel
Open Administrative Tools
Open Task Scheduler
Click on 'Task Scheduler Library'
scroll through the list until you find 'BackgroundContainer'
right click on the entry
click on 'Delete' on the menu that pops up.
close all windows, reboot computer
no more error on start up

Also use the free Malewarebytes to scan your system as well as Adwcleaner http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner

"Background Container" did not appear in any of the folders in the Task Scheduler Library. But I discovered that my company allows free downloads of the full version of Malwarebytes. So I did that, quaranteened everything it found -- including a bunch of Conduit stuff -- and the error message went away.

The company also provides Sophos antivirus for free. I've got several free AV programs already installed, which probably isn't a good idea. But isn't it good to have more than one installed? My system has the free versions of AVG, Ad-Aware, SuperAntiSpyware, Spybot, and Spyhunter installed.

Not a good idea to run all this AV's as well as all the others you're using which can create all sorts of issues you don't want or need to have. I would uninstall them all use either Sophos from your company with Malewarebytes as a backup weekly scanner but without the real time protection or use MS Security Essentials also with MBAM as a backup scanner
