I'm not an MS employee or contractor but I will say if you have a few machines and want to try out full products such as W7 ultimate or W 2008 server with FULL keys its worth taking out a subscription.
You can often get better deals than the 15% but this is a lot better than nothing if your country doesn't have specific extra discounts.

The problem here is not being able to spend for the other option where a hard copy on disk is regularly shipped! Downloads are one thing for the Plus Direct while the Plus Single User option would be the one used here.
