If this has been answered somewhere else, let me know...did not see any recent topics.

My question is this: I am a sharepoint developer (2007 for now) - with the recent release of windows 7 and news from the SharePoint conference that you can now develop on non-server machines, I need to setup my own development environment to learn SP.

So I need: Win 7 x64, SQL 2008 x64, SharePoint 2010, and Visual Studio 2010 at a minimum. I want to be legit, and have looked at the TechNet Plus, but I do not see visual studio on the list of apps. Will there be a fee "lite" version of VS2010 x64?

Any ideas/thoughts may help. Short of a full MSDN, is there any way to do this?

I don't think so. In order to get Visual Studio...you gotta move up to the far more costly MSDN subscription I'm afraid.
