I'm just wondering if anyone is using this card successfully in 7MC.

I'm going nuts as it only works after a boot, then if I close mediacentre and reopen it, the TV service says "Service Unavailable". I've had to add a custom strip into 7MC to launch DVBViewer to watch TV, but I prefer the 7MC GUI and the EPG is so much better than DVBViewer.

Please please help anyone.

Many Thanks

Dave

MCE integration for TechniSat SkyStar HD2

This is also my case. That is because the board itself, even if very reliable on DVB-S tuner category it will not integrate with MCE. It is definettly a software issue, as it was in the past for old Technisat SkySTAR DVB-S boards that was solved in MCE 2005. But it was not with the help of Microsoft or Technisat. Just a nice guy who made it possible with some plugins (see DVB Portal - mceplugin-setup-1.6b3).

For this one it was not like this. Maybe Microsoft and TechniSat should work together on this one as I have suggested them in a RMA filled today.

Let's hope somebody will hear us.

ready to test it

Thanks. I'll try when I get home this evening. It would be interesting to work even without DVB-S2.

Yes,

I got it working. Without DVB-S2 atm - but it is working. Use this driver:
http://www.technisat-daun.de/download/soft/soft_1.3_(incl._dvbviewer_te2)_skystar_hd_2_6790.zip

I am currently searching for a newer Twinhan/Mantis BDA Driver (newer than 1.1.0.502), that may support DVB-S2 in WMC7.

1.1.0.502 is the one I'm using and seem to be picking up all channels in Freesat HD in the UK in 7MC, however there are no free channels in UK being broadcast in S2 yet.

I asked Technisat Support. They explained they will release a new driver, after official launch of Win7 with DVB-S2 Support in WMC. But I still try to find a newer twinhan or mantis driver.

Thanks a lot. It is working now. Unfortunatelly I had to manually scan the transponders because if you try a full satellite scan you get an outdated online transponder list.

Nevertheless it's quite an impoovment for Microsoft with this version of MCE.

Too bad that providers doesn't offer CAM's for their services. Like my case in Romania where Dolce - a service provided by the major telecom company ROMTELECOM - owned by OTE Greece and Deutsche Telekom

Once again. Lots of thanks! Good work Microsoft! - another bad thing is the price too big for the OS...
