temperature question

okay so im new to gpu and i want to know if these temperatures are normal for xfx 3870 gdr5 512mbs

so idle its 56 degrees celcius (fan control 45%)


and under full load 70 degrees celcius (fan control 60%)

Gilly the only way to tell if its outside normal range is to go to Acer and find the specs for your model. 56c doesn't sound warm, my laptop runs at 65c under 50% load.

i just added this to my computer the graphics card everthing else runs very cool my cpu is 30 the hottest thing is hdd 40 but graphics cards get much warmer dont they

also laptops run much warmer dont they


edit ..playing gta4 then with fan control at 50 and it maxed out to 82

is that to hot

if so its know problem cooling it but gpu is silent at 50 % fan speed=)

It sounds normal.

82c is hot, but still within the 'safe' range. If the GPU gets much hotter though, it's time to sacrifice a little quiet for cooling

Right now its something for you to watch, thats a good thing. If it starts changing then its time to act, thats where monitoring comes in.

I clean out my laptop every 2 months because its prone to running hotter. You will know when it starts getting too hot. You will start having random errors, crashes, response will slow, etc.. All things to watch for

yes ,, i meant to buy case fan for back of pc but forgot when ordering it will that do much to the gpu temp?

Honestly? Not a lot. It depends on whether you have any front or side intake fans already. If not, then a single 80mm rear exhaust won't make too much difference.

It won't hurt, but I wouldn't expect miracles

doesnt that blow air in?
