I cant believe they missed adblock.
You have to realize that most web sites depend on advertising revenue to survive and as such are not to keen on promoting an add on that could affect their revenue source.

I agree, it is your choice and prerogative to install whatever you wish on your PC.
That does not mean that any website should be obliged to contribute to decreasing it's own revenue. That would be akin to software companies providing and promoting links to illegal torrent downloads.
