Terry Pratchett game DISCWORLD NOIR error cw3220 crash

I get CW3220 crash error when trying to play DISCWORLD NOIR.
It's an old game made for 95/98 and seems to refer to DLL files.
Plenty of suspicious places offering instant fixes but I don't want to risk them.

Is there a way to enable this game without messing up my other W7 stuff.

sounds to me like the most likely culprit is DirectX, I think it may still be running DirectX 7 but I'm not 100%, first of all, can we try playing the game in windows 98 compatibility mode? (right click the icon and compatibility tab, enable the "run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose windows 98 from the drop down menu), click apply and try it out.
