Testing a new program..Any one used it?

So far it seems pretty good and has not mucked anything up yet. It kind of works like Ccleaner with more options.

I was just starting this thread to see if anyone has used this or not, and if they had any input about it.?

Advanced Uninstaller PRO (Free)

Advanced Uninstaller PRO is the ultimate uninstaller for Windows, allowing you to uninstall programs quickly and completely using its simple and intuitive interface.
No need to worry about stubborn programs ever again!
Advanced Uninstaller PRO features an Installation Monitor that keeps track of all changes performed to your computer during software installations; this way you can later completely uninstall any program and make sure nothing is left behind. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is able to uninstall any program without a trace.
Advanced Uninstaller PRO can also remove a lot of items that other uninstallers can't even touch. It can repair broken registry entries, clean non-functional Start Menu shortcuts, uninstall annoying browser toolbars, plugins and hijackers, remove fonts and get rid of startup programs that run in your system tray and slow down your computer.

I installed the stock 140mm case fan outside of case then installed the H70+ 1 of its 120mm fans inside case. Used the 2nd 120mm from the H70 to go in the Gpu tunnel.

I have not used AUP so I can't give an opinion if it's any good. However, I learned the hard way that any time I feel the urge to uninstall stuff, tweak settings, clean the registry, etc I will make a new restore point and a new system image before doing anything. And that includes using Windows 7 built in tools. All of these so-called optimizers can easily bork a computer and turn it into a paper weight.

I have used Advanced Uninstaller at one time just for the UnInstaller only for the 64-bit before I purchased Revo UnInstaller Pro, it worked good for the UnInstaller just had to go through the registry entries very carefully before deleting them.

I choose a different philosophy. For any software that I want to play with, test, etc...I don't install it onto my regular operating system. I instead use a virtual machine to do the testing. This way, after I decide that something doesn't fit the bill, I don't have to worry about uninstalling or cleaning it up.

As long as you have the install media for Windows 7, you can install a VM without using a key or activation and you get 30 days by default. And you can use the rearm trick 3 more times for a grand total of 120 days without a license key or activation. At the end of that period, simply reinstall Windows 7 on your VM. If you install from an ISO, on a reasonable machine, the OS install only takes like 10-15 minutes.

I've been using this on my Win7-64 system for about a year and like it a lot. It's the only software I use to uninstall things. Previously I used the free Revo, but it did not handle 64-bit software, so I switched and have never gone back. I don't know if the free Revo now handles 64-bit or not, but I'm happy with Advanced Free so will stick with it.

I also use CCleaner on a regular basis and haven't really tried the cleaning function of Advanced more than a couple of times. But I've not had any problems with any of them.

One thing to watch out for: sometimes, if you install an upgrade for a piece of software on top of an existing version, and then use Advanced to uninstall the previous version, during the checks for left over registry entries and files you may find items that link to both the current and old versions. When this happens be sure to de-select the entries that point to the current version so only the stuff that points to the old version gets deleted.

Thanks for replying.... I am still playing around with the program, Still so far so good. I'm liking it.

@marsmimar... Thats good practices you got there..... I too am well aware of what "optimizers" can do (not the hard way though) I'm not sure if I would really call this an "optimizer" is more of a "cleaner".

@pparks1... It's in a V-Box. I too love V-Boxes, I have 7,Vista,Xp and Ubuntu all in boxes.

@bbinnard... I use Ccleaner as well great program! Thanks for the heads up on the installing over an existing version issue.

@Bongo... I use Revo(free) but was just checking this one out... I always check registry entries very carefully before deleting them. Even with Ccleaner!
