When I hold my left mouse button and try to highlight text or select multiple programs it usually glitches out cancels and re-enables my highlight again. It is extremely annoying since when I want to select deselects the first part and selects the other one leaving my text/program half highlighted. I think I have a virus of some kind but I did a full PC scan with avira and It hasn't found anything. I would appreciate any help. This issue is extremely annoying. Thanks.
EDIT:
For some reason I suspect it might have something to do with my mouse going out. Reason why I think that is when I play gta IV and spray with MG it sometimes randomly stops fireing and then starts again. Do you think it is possible ? This issue started like 2 days ago.

Do you have a wired mouse or wireless mouse/ brand...
If you have a spare wired mouse to test with it would be the best way to test,
There are some fairly inexpensive ones.
But games are pretty tough on mice/ repeat actions.
