Text Thumbnail Handler or App

Hey Guys.. I need anyone's help since am going crazy here.

I can't find a working handler (*.dll) or an App that can activate
Text Thumbnail "Thumbnail NOT preview" in my windows 7 x64 system.

Searched aloooooot.. and nothing.

The following 3 links offers a handler sources,
(Exmp: *..recipe, *.cpp, *.snl, .....etc)
yet Not a single clear explanation regarding how to convert these sources files to *.dll ...!!

More Info,

There is Directory Opus application which replaces windows explorer
and it has a text-thumbnail plugin.

I don't want to use Directory Opus since I am using clover and happy with it.

I just wonder if there is a way I can at least get Directory Opus's plugin
to work without running the app itself?

Not sure if I understand what you want.
Thumbnails are associated with the program that opens the file. If text files are open with Notepad, the Text Thumbnail will be from Notepad.

It's possibly best to use a third party app instead of trying to add shell extensions to explorer that may induce crashes.

There's no need to associate file types.

Currently XYPlorer Free is only a time limited trial version. They have given away fully functional free versions in the past and may do so in future. I use the portable no install version with no time limitation. This version is currently unavailable from the manufacturer.

Thanks for reply.. I tried both Irfanview & Xyplorer yesterday, neither showed
text thumbnail, although I liked Xyplorer as a file manager..

I will try STDU and get back to you for help if there will be any..

Hmm. They both show text file thumbnails and previews for me. I just have to figure out why. Let us know if you want the free Xyplorer without an expiry date built in. The way I use it is to launch from the right click context menu.
