I've recently made some upgrades to my PC (its getting closer to the doomsday machine I've wanted it to be) and I've made sure they're all compatible, but I'm having trouble installing Windows 7 X64 on my new HDD. I keep getting the 0xc0000001 error and *INSERT RANDOM FILENAME HERE* is missing AS SOON as I boot up the disc. I've tried USB and disc now. Any help?
EDIT: The filename actually always seems to be "\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe". I have a similar problem booting from my Win XP disc, it says I have a corrupt file. I've also used this disc in the past and have had success.
And sorry bout the double thread :|

Well, I did allot of things that could've fixed this, but in the end opening up my PC and taking out one of the memory sticks got the install to boot. Now to see where to goes from here. (I also did alot of things with the hard drive, switching between AHCI and IDE, but they didn't seem to help at the time)

K, so it was all on a faulty memory stick. I have plans on buying replacements tomorrow.

when you get your new stick(s) maybe test em with memtest86 ?

you burn to CD and run from boot memtest86 for at least 3 passes
