This is really weird! One day i turned on the computer and the BIOS post displayed like 4x faster, and it has stayed like this since. Before i could read most of the stuff buy now i almost cannot read anything. This is really annoying and i have no idea why it happened. I haven't heard of this before and i have searched all over google and could not find anything about it. Does anyone have a clue as to why this happened or some information about this?

Hi hoakman,

There is a setting in your BIOS called Quick Power on Self Test (or similar). If this setting is enabled, it considerably reduces the time it takes for your system to boot up. The amount of time is dependant on your system configuration, in particular the amount of memory installed. Without your motherboard information, I cannot help you any further.

the detection of removable devices by the bios at post can have a bearing here if you removed an external hard drive or memory card reader or you have been booting the computer with an internal memory card reader in which you have left the memory card in until recently could explain this

It happened about 2 days after overclocking my 2,6ghz dual core AMD 5000+ to 2,74ghz. The processor was superlocked so i could only overclocking it by increasing FSB. My RAM also got overclocked from 667mhz to 700mhz because of the FSB increase. But i find it strange that it didn't happen imidiately after overclocking. And a 140mhz increase shouldt have that much effect. I havent enabled or disabled any setting other than the FSB setting.

No, it's not a new build. I've had the computer for 2 years now but i have changed the CPU and RAM. I just turned it on today, and now its not as fast as it was yesterday. Pretty weird. It's still faster than it usually was though.

Very Odd

that's pretty odd you may have a power supply that's having trouble regulating the voltages
