Hello, my name is Benjamin123. I'm having a problem with my Windows 7 Home Premium, the logon screen where it says 'Welcome', next to the 'Welcome' the blue spinning icon is NOT spinning/frozen that it should be - so I know it's running or not, it seems like that my PC is crashed (not always).

The picture below will understand what I mean...

Thanks!

Regards,

Enable verbose winlogon messaging to see if you really are stuck (from this KB article):
To enable verbose status messages by using Registry Editor

To use enable verbose status messages by editing the registry, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click the following registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  5. Type verbosestatus, and then press ENTER.
  6. Double-click the new key that you created, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
  7. Quit Registry Editor.
Once you've done the above, reboot - you should see more information provided to you at that logon screen than just "Welcome". If it really does stick at "Welcome" after making the above registry change, then it's stuck and some tracing will need to be enabled to figure out what's happening.

Some questions:
1. When did this start?
2. How long does it stay at the "Welcome" screen, usually?
3. If you disconnect this machine from any network connections (disable wireless, unplug any Ethernet cables, etc) and reboot, does it still hang?

@cluberti, I will try when I shut down my PC later tonight. If it works, I will send you a good feedback on this thread on my iPod. I will try and see if I can log on in the morning with that spinning icon moving.

(before the problem;) - I just don't understand why my icon was frozen??

Thanks!

Nevermind, my system fixes itself. It might be something to do with my graphic driver that stops from the icon spinning, but it's spinning alright now on the Welcome screen! :D

Please answer the following questions to your following issue:

1) What drivers are you using?
2) How old is your driver?
3) Did you update your driver?
4) Is the problem still not solved to the issue that you having right now?
5) What brand or type of monitor (screen) you have?
6) What machine is made from (like HP, DELL, COMPAQ, and etc...)?
7) Did you check the computer's status performance on your drivers?

Mine also not working

Hello!
I had the same problem in my Acer Aspire 5745G Notebook for long time.
It was worked fine about 8-9 months ago.

But startup is going normally, takes usual time and loads desktop.
The only problem is that spinning wheel is not animating. I was suffered a lot because of this issue.

How did you fix yours? I'v tried all solutions in ms answers("sfc/ scannow" , "fixit aero t.s." , "startup repair" , f8 menu:last known gud config *at that time*) n here, mine is still stuck.
What are the solutions? I'v started a new thread here about this case and haven't got enough answers as you got.

Please help me!
Thanks in advance before!
