This thing has been a nightmare since March of this year! Here are the specs:
1: Intel Core i3 540 Processor BX80616I3540 - 3.06GHz

2: ASUS P7H55-M Pro Motherboard - Intel H55, LGA 1156, Micro ATX, DDR3, HDMI, USB 2.0, SATA II, Gigabit Ethernet Port

3: OCZ PC3-10666 Platinum RAM - 4GB, 2x2GB, 1333MHz, DDR3, Low Voltage, Dual Channel

4: Western Digital WD5000AADS Caviar Green Hard Drive - 500GB, SATA-3G, 32MB, Intellipower

5: Ultra LS500 Lifetime Series 500W Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-Express, Lifetime Warranty w/ Registration

6: LG GH22LS50 DVD Writer - DVD+R 22x, DVD+RW 8X, DVD-RW 6x, DVD-RAM 12x, SATA, Lighscribe (OEM)

I talked my son into doing a custom build instead of a retail purchase, I had built 2 XP machines prior and was very happy with the result....so we did, what a mistake, I have been playing with this thing for months! It will crash if you even look at it! BSOD over and over, anything from IRQ faults, Kernel faults, memory and page faults, USB errors, you name it, it even crashes trying to format the HDD to install a new OS, Ive tried loading with XP and it still does it, so that tells me its probably hardware, I initially thought I might have a bad MB so I returned it and got a new one, no change, Its a 32 bit OS, I had 4 mB of RAM installed, since it only will recognize 3, still crashes, changed slots, no change, I have it stripped to the minimum, and I cant even get it to reload Windows now, it just hangs, or crashes, Ive reformatted the drive multiple times, I know the disk is good, cause Ive tried in another machine, I have had it up and running multiple times, I give it back to him, and the problem continues, and I cant seem to get the same error consistently, so here I am. I'm about ready to throw this thing in the trash! Any ideas appreciated

Hi RC48 and welcome to the Forum
First the obvious. Did you use an earth strap ALL the time you had your hands inside the PC? Have you carefully checked all the connections within, that means unplugging each one and plugging back. Is your processor sitting perfectly? Are you absolutely certain you didn't "bend" one of those very small pins? Have you checked with the manufacturers that you have the latest driver for each component?

Can you boot into safe mode with networking?
If so do it and follow these instructions http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Hi RC48 and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Can you boot up and enter the BIOS, specifically the hardware monitoring page? What I am interested in is the values and stability (or otherwise) of the various power rails from the PSU. If these fluctuate, or fall outside specification, this can lead to multiple inexplicable problems. Can you post back with the values you get?
