hmmmm.... uhm..... he says something about all those background and themes for every locale? he then refers to a location, windows/globalization/MCT .... I don't have that location.... well, I don't have the MCT part.... and I was hoping to see some stuff!
I'm very happy with his explorer hack though! Being able to start with all my drives visible will be nice!

nice to see such high quality forum this fast. I'm reading since I installed Win7 64 last sunday.

Why I'm posting... The tip with opening the explorer at your computer location doesn't work for me. I will get a new explorer indeed, but clicking any item opens up another explorer window, sometimes even two. So I looked around and solved this one. Also I found a faster way for editing exploreres properties:

1. Right click on explorer on taskbar, opening up the pinned view
2. Right click on Windows Explorer (third last item from bottom)
3. Click Properties

For a real explorer, use:

4. %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

as target. The only difference is /e instead of /root but this works for me.

Thanks for the info GHad, welcome to the Forums.

For anyone who tries this, it will change the default directory from the Library to the explorer view, the same as you get from clicking on Computer.

oh, the tip in the article worked for me, except I had to unpin explorer from the startmenu only to pin it there again...... once I did that, there were no problems....
