"The Case of the Disappearing Hard Drive Space"

There I was, sitting in a cold dark room, nothing but me and that hunk of metal I call Dolores, doing her Win 7 Pro computing thing.

Then I notice, something amiss. Her C: drive, an SSD, with no restore points set, no pagefile.sys, is down to 24.3 GB open. That's okay. But then later in the day, something suspicious happens. She's been eating something without my knowing. 21.4 GB. Then 20.3 GB. Finally, a week later, red zone alert, only 13.7 GB left open. Hmmm...

So I reverted to an image back in time to when there was 23.6 GB left. And she starts the same "diet" process, losing open space daily. Rebooting changes nothing.

So I've come to you, great detectives. Any idea what might be causing this?

Installed it, took an image at 21.2 GB. Will wait until later to post a "smaller" open space screenshot and then revert to an earlier image via Macrium, and take an image of that Tree to compare.

No problem, let us know how it goes.

It appears that it's a system volume issue. Deleting the restores Windows automatically seems to make is what was eating up the space. Here are screenshots of kind of a before and after.

Other than deleting restore points, are there other files in that folder that are unnecessary?
