The device you chose for Ready Boost appears to be a 1000 GB disk drive.
The message is correct. You cannot use that drive.
You can't use disk drives for Ready Boost. They're too slow.

That's the whole point of having Ready Boost: You avoid slow disk access by caching data on a faster medium (a flash drive).

Anyway, there's a better solution. You have on 1 GB of RAM in this system. That's readlly not adequate for Windows 7. Even 2 GB is marginal. Can your system accept 4 GB of RAM? If so, skip Ready Boost. Get more memory. Lots more.

Armyswat,
Please purchase a ready boost verified usb drive or sd card if you have a fast reader. Today you can find 8gb usb drive for peanuts. Configure all or at least half of it's capacity and let the system learn over a week and you will see a modest improvement. When funds allow start researching the maximum ram of your system and take advantage of falling ram prices to add the best speed upgrade to your system. keep in mind with W7 32bit your ram is held to 4gb max and you'll only see 3.2-3.5 of that and all the ram sticks are best to be matched pairs ! Consider a 64bit OS upgrade if you use ram intensive programs like photoshop and the like.

It's not easy finding out if the usb drives are going to work as many that will aren't advertised as readyboost certified will work and some that are readyboost certified won't. The good news is they are dirt cheap these days and if you have access to a good computer store near you can ask them which drives they sell will work.......like this one:
Patriot PEF8GRUSB Xporter Rage USB Flash Drive - 8GB, USB 2.0 at TigerDirect

Note that there is a ReadyBoost event log that can tell you why a device can't be used, although I would always agree that adding more RAM is preferable to using ReadyBoost - it's just that adding more RAM isn't always possible.
