The epiphany was discovering MBAM was sold on a physical disk, whooda thunk it?

Don't use the disk for the installation.
It may be an older version that would need updating.
Best to just download the latest version and use the key/id in the box to activate it.

If you already have the latest free version installed, no need to re-install.
Just activate it.

Way ahead of you, I was going to try activating the free one I have. If it doesn't work I'll install the free trial version and boogy down.

Why would I want a license of MBAM anyhow. My freebie seems to do the job.

I think it will be better having the ability for automated scans and updates and run with real-time protection. MBAM gest along well with most all security suites. That's my reasoning anyway.

Hmm, I see. MBAM scans and updates I do about twice a week (manually) and for real time protection I trust my NIS.

Real time protection and automatic updating were what attracted me. Since switching to Pro, all my other antimalware scans have been getting fewer hits.
