Have you ever found that backing up your precious settings and documents is a nightmare, or your worried that you could suddenly lose them with a hardware failure.
With this method you can backup the settings of every program thats installed plus your documents and pictures, messenger and email.
1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to c:\user folder.
2. Here you will see your main user account. Now simply copy this to another hard drive (should be a phsyical seperate hard drive rather than a partition) or burn it to cd/dvd.
If you have more than one user account on your computer, dont forget to back those up.
If during the copying process you get messages saying that some files cannot be copied and look like system files then chose skip and continue copying the rest of the files.
Note: I do not recommend when you wish to restore your settings and files that you do a wholesale copy to the new system. Instead do it one program at a time.
[if some kind person would like to make this into a sevenforum standard tutorial I would be grateful, as long as I am credited as originator]
