Ok so I have had this problem for about one day now and as far as I can see on the web no one has the exact same problem as me.

The problem that is occuring to me is that I can not connect regularly to my router. Every time I put in the correct passphrase it is telling me to re-enter it ... I alternatively push the wifi connect button on the router but that just ends me up with this:

"The settings saved on this computer do not match the settings on the network"

Or at the very least something around that. I have tried everything, that includes resetting the password, changing security types, the usual pull plug on router for 30 seconds and replug, factory defaulting the router. The only way I can acess my router is to disable the password on another computer/laptop and then go into the network with my computer and change the password back.

This started to happen when I formatted my computer, there was no hardware change except that I changed my hard drive, but everything is the same, same case, same OS. I just need help.

Welcome to 7 forum goldenzero2...:D
in order to help we need some details & specification of your computer & router....without troubleshooting wiil be a little difficulty....:geek:

But here are few things that might help you:
Depending on your router's configuration, you might have to connect using a LAN port, and the client accessing the administration interface usually needs to be in the same IP range.
For example, if you need to connect to http://192.168.1.1 in order to access the management interface, your client PC needs to be in the range between 192.168.1.2/24 and 192.168.1.254/24.
Also, you will most likely need a recent browser version with Javascript support.
Make sure you're using the correct IP address for the router, as well as the correct port (some use 8080 instead of the standard port 80). Check this list of routers and their default IPs/passwords broadband hardware dataabse.
Try this but we need basic specification to troubleshoot because this can go on but without specification it'll be difficult...Hope this help & if not please revert back so we can check & help you...:geek:

Yea sorry about that, that was my bad I would usually type up my specs but I seemed to forgot about it while thinking to myself, "Don't forget anything, they need every bit of imformation!"

Not quite sure what you mean by the above post I tried to decipher it to the best of my ability but all I can tell you is that once that I'm inside the network I can access the administration interface.

Thnx for the info this will help...
Ok we'll go step by step can you tell me which part on the above post you couldn't understand???
Are you aware/know about the terms used like LAN port,Port 8080,80???? Do you checked the link for the default ip & password????

Let me know what are things you understood so i can give the step-by-step instruction...:geek:

Ok, I understand most of the basics because I spend most of my time around computers, I know LAN, ports etc. except I'm just not sure where to check the ports you mention or where to check if my PC is in range.

E: and my bad I forgot to check the links as I was typing my specs down, I'll do that right now.

E2: Oh yes I know my default IP and my default Password, I can access it fully and completely as soon as I'm connected.

Ok good to hear that you know about the terms used...not an issue you can check the link to get the ip & password...
Ok for better understanding of port 80 & 8080 you might wanna check this link: Look here for overview: List of TCP and UDP port numbers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
but i tell you a jest port 80 - (TCP/UDP) Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) & 8080 - (TCP) HTTP alternate (http_alt)—commonly used for Web proxy and caching server, or for running a Web server as a non-root user

Ok lets begin with troubleshooting:
But please note when setting up or changing your wireless settings it is a good idea to be plugged into the router with your network cable and not your wireless connection. If you are using your wireless connection and make any changes you will lose you wireless connection.
Step 1.
Open your favorite web browser and input your routers ip address in the address bar.
Please note that you must have the http:// in order to connect to your router/modem properly.

If you don't know how to find your router's ip add. then check this: Find Your Router IP Address | PcWinTech.com
or click Windows & type 'run' & then type 'cmd' & type 'ipconfig' in command box & your local network info will show up, normally your gateway is your router. So the gateway IP is your router IP.

Step 2.
Some router/modems require a username and/or password, if yours requires it, enter the routers username and password here. Your username & password is admin or you might check it on Default Router & Modem Passwords A-N | PcWinTech.com
(sorry for so many links but we need this to get it right)
If you have changed it and don't remember it you may have to reset your device to factory default using the reset button on most routers.
Step 3.
Once logged into your router click on the "Wireless" tab.
View attachment 102503
Step 4.
By default 'Basic Wireless Setting' should be chosen, if not click it now.
For 'Wireless Configuration' mark 'Enable'
For 'Network Mode' set to 'Mixed'.
For 'Network Name (SSID)' set a name you would like to call your wireless.
What you put here is what will show up when you are searching for a wireless connection.
For 'Radio band' & 'Wide Channel' leave these at their defaults.
For 'SSID Broadcast' normally you will have this set to 'Enable'.
This will broadcast your wireless connection to be detected by your wireless card.
This is a good way for a standard user to find the network, but also why it is important to have wireless settings in place.
Once all information is set click on 'Save Settings'
View attachment 102504
Step 5.
Now click on 'Wireless Security'
For 'Security Mode:' you will have multiple options, for the sake of keeping this guide simple I recommend you choose WPA.
WPA is widely supported by wireless cards and allows you to set your own password.
Once you have your security set more boxes will appear on screen.
For setting your wireless password you will enter it into the 'Passphrase' or 'Password' box.
Once you have your setting all set click 'Save Settings'

Yup I am able to follow up to that step, I've already done this settings before you posted the screen shots. Sorry you had to put up with that :(

the issue is not with your router, its with computer. the procedurre is lengthy.

1) i would request you to open router page, reset your security type to "WEP" and not wpa, or any other. WEP is the best and is supported widly by everything which has wireless and also mutiple computer with all the platforms. once you change your security type to WEP, type your password and save the settings on the router page. WEP ROCKS, WPA SUCKS.
2) the goal is to create a manual profile rather then an automatic one. depending what type of os you have, proceed to control panel network and sharing center. delete all the wireless network profiles you see in there.
3) click on add a network and enter the values manually, make sure the network name is accurate, select security type is WEP as we have selected WEP in router. type the password/passphrase click on ok, then trying connecting to your network using this profile.

bingo we are done.
