the sims 2 compatibility issues

hello,

I am trying to start the sims 2 on windows 7 (64bit) but it all the time gives this message:

This programm has known compatibility issues

Below it says : the sims 2 has a known compatibility issue with this version of windows.

I have updated both my windows and the sims 2 (updater), i have tried to change my screen resolution but that also has no effect.

Anyone any ideas how to solve this ?

Try running the .exe as Windows XP.

Do you mean in compatibility mode ? i've tried that. Same message.
i'm quite clueless.

i have same problem when i play aoe 3, but when download patch and run it as xp sp 2 in compatiblity mode ,it run smooth, so you should also try download patch of your game
