I just bought a new desk chair and ooooh what a difference.
Just using my new chair for a short time I got up chasing down some more coffee and felt the difference in the lower back and hips when walking. Much of the normal every day pain was less and significant enough of change I noticed the difference instantly.
Exactly how you sit changes how you feel when walking I have no idea but it does for me.
Walking is a very painful thing for me to do so that is probably why I noticed the difference quickly.
The proper chain would probably make a difference to many even if you don't have hip and lower back problems.
I made this post to get you thinking on how many hours you spend in a chair in front your desk like I do on the computers. Your chair should fit you like a good pair of shoes I'm thinking.
Because I'm not a person with a lot of cash I did a lot of research and found chairs from $70.00 to $1600.00. Ended up at Sams Club and got this one for a $100.00. Some other places this chair was over $200.00.
Tweaking the keyboard to a comfortable tilt can also play a nice roll in utilizing the chair where you can lean back and type away,
The default tilt is not enough for me personally so I have the front of it on the pencil drawer and leaning on the front of the desktop so it sits at about a 22 degree angle

That's one thing i will have to do...i'm still sitting in a Club chair from the sixties that i have enhanced to fit the height of my desk....Not my back hurting me but more of my legs badly blood drained and when i stand up it feels heavy. Same here, looking for something around 100$/200$.

Like ThrashZone pointed out the angle of the keyboard (the angle of your wrist) is very important.
I change the angle of my wrist when using the mouse and keyboard from time to time to help keep the pain away.
The angle and distance of monitor screens is another one forgot about.
You want to get some scary numbers.
Keep notes for about a week of all the time you spend sitting down in front of a computer.
I'm thinking one should learn the proper things to do so it don't hurt so much.

May be enjoying better lower back support from the way it looks, Jack. I always want a chair with lower back support and enough adjustment in the back so that I can make it rod-straight. I won't even it in a chair that feels like its tilting back with no back support. I also like to get at eye level to the screen using the height adjustment to make it easier on the neck.
Found another little trick while sitting in my new chair.
Using a bluetooth mouse.
Sit back in your chair and get comfy.
Place a thin book on your lap to use as a mouse pad.
It changes the angle of your shoulder and arm. It also lets you sit up straight instead of leaning over the desk.
It seems to take the stress out of using a mouse always on the top of your desk.

I like to use mine on an easy chair arm where my arm is already supported. Many will not need a pad. or sheet of paper.
Another tip is frequently raising upward into exaggerated erectness to correct your posture, a form of stretching. Hold it as long as you can, permanently if possible.
Arch your hands on keyboard instead of laying them down to speed and improve typing accuracy.
These adjustments help me avoid back and other problems.
Greg all these years we and many others have been on this forum we just starting sharing these little trick.
May be because we have been in the pain zone before.
I do like my new keyboard but it is going to take some getting use to. The keys are a little smaller and much more sensitive.
I hope our methods will help some other members.
