I have a Toshiba laptop three years old. Its Windows (C:) memory used currently 148 GB out of 149 GB available. However the Windows (C:) memory of other computers for example in the library and in the college used only between 40GB and 60 GB even though they are bigger than my laptop. As a consequence I have problem because I have little memory left in my laptop. My laptop has some applications like all the computers but I think that each application uses approximately 1 GB. Hence I would like to know why my laptop used so much memory and how can I free memory.

I have used the disk cleanup facilities of my laptop but it cleans very little.

My Windows (C:) space if 149 GB and 148 GB is already used. My Data (D:) space is 149 GB but only 10 GB is used. I have succeeded to create a New Volume (F:) by removing 50 GB space from my Data (D:) and putting it in this new volume. I would like to move the 50 GB space from this New Volume (F:) to my Windows (C:) to increase his free space. However in the Computer Managment facility when I double click on the Windows (C:) the extend volume facility remains in grey and I cannot transfer space from the New Volume (F:) to my Windows (C:). I would like to know how to do
