well im not on for long, but the first thing I found is for rainmeter. It's a very nice addon for desktop customization:

If you are looking for customization of the start menu button or other win7 specific graphics, then maybe getting specific images uploaded here, someone can make something for you, but thats a good start....

This looks pretty amazing but the whole windows GUI is gone which I kinda like anyway ill give you a heads up when I try it

Thats a pretty cool theme Bongo. for the rainmeter, you can run individual modules of the theme so you don't have to remove the entire GUI. you can do the GUI from the theme that Bongo posted and then enable the parts of rainmeter that you like.
