Solved There must a tutorial for live mail.

There are 118 pages of problems on this subject and most of them are on Windows Live Mail. To me there is many problems people are having and me being one of those people. I have tried all the little tricks that people post and WLM is still a bag of worms. This is what I'm looking for in WLM. No advertisement, no dumb side bars, able to add attachments without jumping through hoops and over fences. I would like WLM to work as smooth as Outlook Express. When trying to use some of the post here telling to use drop down so and so and uncheck or check this or that don't work. I many cases I can't get where the post says I should go to or there isn't a drop down. I'm requesting from someone here that uses WLM and post that it's great to create a tutorial where dummies like me can start fresh and make this darn thing work for email. I don't want things like I.M., share photos, movie maker, ect. just a good email like the old Outlook Express was.

i've been using windows live mail for a few months now, and haven't had many issues.

what exactly are the problems you are experiencing?

I guess I'm one of the last holdouts using Windows Mail in Windows 7. Recently I've made the switch to WLM and haven't looked back. For me and it took some working around a few issues but it now works like OE or WM. Have you sifted through the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5481-windows-mail-80.html#post838033
in Windows 7 tutorial? User/Users Poppa Bear and roncerr are very knowledgeable folks with the WLM and have posted quite alot of content on the WLM subject within that tutorial. It may be that PB has made a condensed WLM tutorial over there, not for sure but check it out or post a question there. PB is excellent with tutorials and I imagine if you give him some specifics as to what you want to do, he will gladly post something for all to see.

The closest I've come to a tutorial is the knowledge I brought with me from OE and WM. The next is the help information in the upper right corner of WLM. Just remember that you can ignore the stuff you don't need and that "Photo Email" really means you are NOT sending the photo by email. The Windows Explorer Contacts Folder has nothing to do with the email program since WLM uses its own 2 contact databases: one for "signed-in" and one for "not signed-in", sort of like having 2 versions of OE's WAB file. And for backing stuff up, just back up the "Windows Live Mail" directory and remember you can use WLM's "import" feature to restore the data from a backup of that directory. Since this is the "Browser and Mail" Forum, just create your own WLM subject to ask a question.

Speaking of the lack of a tutorial, I just found a post on the corresponding newsgroup: windows.live.mail.desktop:

"Yes, the OP did NOT '..... know how to manually initiate a send/receive for
a specific account, one at a time....' because this program did NOT come

I highly recommend that newsgroup to anyone who is familiar with newsgroups. There are several experts there who beat to death each and every WLM problem.
