New pc case??Liquid cooling

What do you guys think of the thermaltake level 10 case, the normal one,not the gt. I am thinking of getting it in the future, but it doesn't support e-atx or bigger motherboards,so it's a waiste for me in that sence, but i like the looks of it.. Any thoughts on this case, cooling, watercooling and so on.

Also was thinking of the ikonik ra x10 liquid cooled case. But I am not so shore about the aliminium radiator and corrosion and so on.(Please advice on what you know on liquid cooling, the pro's/cons ,corrosion on aliminium raidiators, maintenance, worth it and so on if you have liquid cooling in you case)

But the price difference between the level 10 and the ikonik is about the price of a nice gfx card...And I love the look of both.

the TT 10 case is a pain to clean wire your pc apparently and not designed for W/C at all..
The Ikonik is and from the review I just read apparently does it quite well as long as you don't want to pull xtreme O/C's.
You can get silver from the TKR to put into your res if you go with the Icon..silver helps with corrosion, use deionised water to fill your loop.Ikon have also made refill/top ups easy and thats about all the maintenance you need other then making sure your rad's don't choke with dust.
If you go with the icon I would consider cutting a hole into the motherboard tray to make mounting and dismounting the backplate (for the W/C CPU Block) easier.
It looks to be a nice case, they both are in fact but if you want to W/C and you don't want to build a custom loop then the Icon is the better case imo.
cheers

Thanx simmo, I just don't wan't to deal with having to pay all that money for something that willl require allot of maintanance, Mostly the looks of the case and desighn is what is importent to me,then follows cooling and then price. So basically looking for a case with extreme beauty and intelligent design, with the option of water-cooling for people like me that never done water cooling before(simple, hassle free, long lasting)

If you are not willing to put in some work (a lot of work) and maintenance into a watercooling setup, you shouldn't get one. They take a lot of work (took me almost a week to get mine setup once it arrived, and months of research).

I would consider cooling over looks of the case, but luckily most of the cool cases look good and are high quality. You might take a cool at the Corsair Obsidian 800D, and other cases made for watercooling.

Watercooling loops don't take a lot of maintenance period...you need to check your rads for dust build up in the fins once every six of months..if your in a hi dust area every couple of months or w/e you notice your temps increasing...Real Temp does a good job of that.
Check your water lines occasionally for leaks and use compression fittings where ever you can.
other than that its no big deal...definetly cools better the air so its imo miles ahead of any air cooling currently on the market.

Ok firstly It looks like I misspoke the first time, I didn't mean cleaning dust or removing bubbles, I personally take my case apart every two months and clean all the fans and remove the dust and so on,I was talking about maintenance regarding the corrosion problem everyone talks about, copper vs aliminium, how long the radiators and cpu blocks will last before you replace them with new ones if ever.,and how long the liquid can stay in the bottle it comes in(If I buy the case with it installed, will the liquid be fine they supply,or will it have lost it "cool" haha) I want water cooling because I need less fans, witch i think would mean less dust.:sarc:

But I LOVE the level 10 case, with or without water cooling, I just like to know if there is anyway I can MAKE a e-atx board fit in a atx only case.

Only a little bit on graphics cards(don't like my gfx fans to run so high all the time,so I figured liquid cool the mofo) And cpu-well I have no idea how to,and the easy level up my motherboard supports for overclocking a cpu, does not work for my cpu, just gives a error on restart.

Alsisgevat,
Thermaltake says this design is ATX so I don't believe you have any chance of squeezing in an extended ATX board. I recently found this case on sale and have considered before but in the end reading the reviews turned me away. Still I like the design and think with a ton of smart consideration you could wire this clean. I would get the case first then plan on measuring all the lengths with string so you can get an idea for ordering the proper length sata cable and a molex pin tool so you can alter the power cables back at the PSU to the just right length. Tons of work but when you're done you will have one bad ass looking case inside and out. Also with the low pro H60 cooler from Corsair you should be able to sealed water cool this bad boy as well. I say go for it but plan on lots of time and effort getting it just so!

It seems every time I ask a question you always seem to give the one I want. Thanx, the only thing that bothers me is the atx board,I have a e-atx board, and the next board I wanted is also e-atx(asus rampage III black series). And the new gigabyte boards are even bigger than e-atx...As far as I know you can't get a GOOD(and I mean Freaken Brilliantly powerful) atx board, Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is still a problem. But I like the idea of hard work on it...makes it more personal, and at least I can keep my corsair H60:D

Oh,I can't seem to give you rep, something about spreading it around first. But thanx

BUT, I GOT THIS PIC OF A Thermaltake forum, the thermaltake guy was clear and later a bit rood, but some guys asked if they can fit the Asus rampage 3 Extreme into the level 10,he kept saying: no,Only atx, not bigger! Then someone actually bought the case and asus rampage 3 extreme, and he said it all fitted, the thermaltake guy then said again only atx,any bigger will cover up the wire holes and that the guy that said he fitted it must have been lying and if he realy did it,then the wires must have been messed up in a bunch.... then the other guy posted this pic( all credit to him,i only place the pic to prove a point he made)

picture.php

That is the asus rampage III extreme, with what seems to be the biggest gfx card I ever seen with a soundcard under neath.

The Thermaltake guy just replied only atx as he did before, but then after that he said Nice rig man and then no one spoke again...

Alsisgevat,
On Thermaltake's site the Level 10GT seems to have addressed this and water cooling in a much larger platform. And please kill the rainbow lighting scheme please. But it specs to take the e-ATX platform. I would call TT with the exact dimensions of the mobo and ask, my worry would be the stand off placements but if the mobo will fit then you could likely drill and tap for the additional stand offs that need. Is there a reason the GT won't work?

I know what the level 10 gt looks like, and it is not on my profile, the case on my profile is thermaltake's kandalf va9000. What I meant was the gt looks like the rest(It is a box shaped case, with a few extras). My case (kandalf) is a box case, full aliminium, light and supports e-atx. So if I get a new case it would be something like level 10,that looks like no other case in the world. That is my hole point, I wanted a case that very few have, most wan't and that does not look like a pc case,so I thought of the level 10.

And what rainbow light shceme should I get rid of?

The mixed color flash mode on the GT10 is hideous and i should know cause my Element V black edition does the same stupid thing and is the most childish 70's disco light scheme........I did that once don't make me do it again, lol.

If you read my previous posts you will see that I said it is STILL A BOX CASE,the gt looks like any other box case but with a few xstras,my case or any other case is still a box case, the normal level 10 is the only one that looks like no other case! The GT IS STILL JUST A BOX CASE WITH FANCY EXTRAS.

Oh,yeah I saw that the gt can go green OR blue OR red OR one color mashed 3sum,but I agree, Would keep it only 1 color, most likely red, cause the rest of the case has red standerd lights. But the normal level 10 does not seem to have the rainbow effect.:D

But kinda got of piont, atleast you think it's a good case, and I like the fact that you can "fit" e-atx in it, just wished thermaltake thought of it then. Maybe coolermaster will make a case in the lines of the normal level 10,to show how it is supposed to be done?

Well alright. Doesn't really look like it to me, but I guess I can see that.
