Hello,

Machine won't boot from CD.

The Boot Menu (from F2 and F8) (Asus A68HM)

UEFI P4: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSD0 (Highlighted)
P2: Toshiba DT01 ACA1000 (953969MB)
P3: Toshiba DT01 - ditto -
Samsung Flash Drive (122368 MB)
Generic Storage Device
Generic Storage Device

UEFI P4 must be the DVD writer; P2 & P3 the two HDDs; a flash drive and I know not what the storage
devices are.

Put bootable disc in DVD writer and restart: " Starting Windows .... " The first entry in the boot
menu is ignored.

I must be doing something wrong. It won't work with any bootable CD I have. The DVD writer works normally in Windows.

Thanks!

I'll try that next time I boot the machine.

It's not practical to disconnect the second 1TB NTFS - internal.

I'd prefer it always to look at the DVD first and if no bootable disc there to default to the first HDD. I do this with other machines which don't have UEFIs. Is this possible?

I'm not reinstalling Windows as such - I just want it to boot from DVD should the need arise to access saved images on the second HDD or on a plug and play HDD if I should ever lose access to Windows on C:
