I am wondering if you think there may be a problem with my system. I have it set currently dual boot, XP 32 bit on one partition, and Win7 Ultimate 64 Bit on the other partition, Partition boot manager was installed using the win7 setup.

I am interested in setting up bitlocker. I am interested in setting it up but I don't know if it will be a huge mess because of the dual boot and having a windows xp there.

Also I will check when I get home to see if My bios supports TPM. I hate to need to use a flash drive stick... I would end up loosing it or having it go corrupt.

It is possible, however..

What is your first partition?
Do you have hidden system partition created by Windows 7?
Do you want to encrypt just Windows 7 or both?

It is necessary to have hidden system reserved partition to use Bitlocker and as far as I can remember it must be first partition in the drive.
If you qualify to previous, and only want to encrypt Windows 7 partition. It is possible and quite easy.

But, Anyway First of all BACKUP! You don't know something may go wrong.

P.S. if you PC comes up not supporting TPM: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...cryption-windows-7-drive-turn-off-no-tpm.html

I have looked at what you said.. No need to back up stuff as everything is replaceable... sort of...lol
I did come to the error of permisions as my bios isn't tpm supported but the tutorial on this forum got me through that.. I scanned my system and said all is fine.
It is encripting as we speak. Unfortunatly because of the tpm, I will need to use a usb stick to boot.. I was looking to not do that as if I would loose it, it would be a computer gone... I guess I will just make sure I have a stick hidden somewhere with the data on it as I will need it everytime i boot up. Thanks for your info.
I am part of some other forums and I refer this forum to all other ones as it is the best win 7 forum that I have ever seen.. Thanks to all on here.
