Im not an expert but what will happen if i add a new processor?
but before adding it I would like to know if my Motherboard supports those new intel i3,i5, and i7
My mother board is here> HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, P5LP-LE (Leonite) - c00864946 - HP Business Support Center

all info is there

it says Suppported chipsets are:
Core 2 Duo E6x00
Core 2 Duo E4x00
Pentium D 9x0 Dual Core
Pentium D 8xx Dual Core
Pentium 4 6x1 series
Celeron D 3xx series
if it doesnt support i3,i5, and i7
What is the best one from the list on the website that i posted up?
I have an Hp pavilion a1719n Desktop
I previously had Vista home premium 32bit but now i got windows 7 Home premium 33bit!
My ram is 3GB total (2x1GB and 2x512MB)
anybody out there that has the same motherboard and that added a new processor?
Any help would be appreciated

Sockets are different.
If it doesn't mention i3, i5 and i7, don't buy one, they won't fit.
You're limited to the selection given.

Probably go with the Core 2 Duo E6x00 series.

You will see a boost from single core to dual core, but you will see a lot more if you move to a quad core processor. I assume that you upgraded to windows 7 from a different operating system if you have a Pentium 4?
