I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T400 with Windows 7 professional 32-bit. Previously, my login screen would display a "fingerprint logon" option and my username concurrently. I just finished installing an update for the Lenovo fingerprint software using the Lenovo update utility, and now the logon screen will only display the "fingerprint logon" option until I click on "other credentials" or "switch user". I liked my old login screen better and both a system restore and an attempted re-installation of the old software failed to bring it back.
I would like to know if anyone knows a registry hack or something to keep the giant icon of a finger off my login screen (similar to this one: http://www.blogsdna.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/windows-7-build-7057-login-screen.png), and confined to tiny icons, like these : http://www.blogsdna.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/windows-7-logon-for-windows-xp.jpg with the option of logging on with either a password or the fingerprint reader without any additional clicks.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
