This unidentified network problem...

Hello everyone. maybe you all can help me.

about a week ago I started to get an unidentified network issue on my laptop.

here is how it basically works. I will see the network i want to connect to, and click on it. after which it will tell me that it is taking awhile finding the network, and then connect me to a unidentified public network. and it will tell me to the left of that that I am connected to the network I tried to connect to, but I have no internet access.

I have tried turning the adapter off and on, restarting and I have deleted bonjour, (I think) and can't figure out what it might be. help please?

Reset the network tcp/ip stack.

Copy and paste this to an elevated command prompt then hit enter:

netsh int ip reset

Reboot.

If that doesn't help, set a static ip address for the network adapter in Windows for IPv4. For dns server, use 208.67.222.222.

If you don't have mdnsresponder.exe in the task manager, you've already successfully uninstalled Bonjour.

Click on the little down arrow to "track as an intruder"

it isn't an issue with there being an intruder though. It has happened at my home and at college in the public wifi area.

Okay, don't track it as an intruder then... just see what it is

The first bit of advice didn't work, but I'm looking at this now. How do i set up the static ipv4 connection. cause I think that might be what is part of the problem.

looking at my general adapter information it says that my IPv4 connectivity has no network access.

Its working now thank all of you for your advice. for future refrence here was MY problem.

I went to my adapter, clicked properties then clicked properties on internet prtocol Version 4 then clicked properties. it looked like somehow (maybe bonjour who knows) my DNS and Ip adress were set to static with nothing.

maybe this is a windows 7 issue or what but try to have people check for this.

Do you see a yellow triangle in Network and sharing?
