Solved Thread Rating

I recently solved a problem for a poster. I, then, saw that there was a rating by the thread (5 bars) I know what they mean, but can any one rate a thread and how?

Just click where it says "rating" and vote.

i have the same question. and i can't see any option for "rating" as suggested by jfar.
can you post a some instructions plus screenshot, maybe?

however, my screen looks completely different - see attachment.
so which of the following parameters could be the reason?

• i'm a "fresh" member (joined the forum 3 days ago)
• i have posted only 2 comments so far
• i'm using firefox 7.0.1 (with custom cookie restrictions in place)

Ah I didn't spot you where such a new member.

Your first two points are the reason, take a look now.

does it show (admins end) who has rated the thread, cos i did an experiment and now the thread shows three stars ,ooops

No I dont think I've ever seen an option to see who has rated a thread, although vb does suprise me from tme to time with something I've missed for years.

i can now see the rating option and just gave this thread a maximum rating (5 stars) because i consider it very useful.

so which of the following is true?

• it takes a while for the system to sync new users?
• a new user needs to be manually granted rating permissions by some forum admin?
• a new user needs to be earn a minimum reputation points to be allowed to rate threads?

You must have a minimum reputation rating.
They are all true. Usually a member will wait until he has earned sufficient rep, before rating a thread.
