Three network connections ?

Hi Gang, can anyone tell me why I have three connections shown in network connections. The first two I know are my Ethernet and Wireless connections but the third is a mystery, it is "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter". all I need to know is if this should be there and if it's all OK. Thanks in advance for any help.

The WiFi Miniport Adapter is a Windows 7 feature that allows a computer to connect to multiple wireless networks simultaneously. It's part of your wireless driver. So yeah, it's perfectly fine that it's there!

The link below explains how the wifi mini port adaptor works and how to use it to set up an AP. You can disable the mini port adaptor if you don't need it.

OK thanks to both of you, as long as there is nothing wrong then I shall just leave well alone.

If you start seeing DNS errors then the virtual mini port is the most likely cause. You would want to disable it in those cases.
