Three Problems With Outlook 2010 I Can't Seem to Fix

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit with MS Office 2010 Professional, MS Office Pro 32bit.

I have 3 problems which I have been unable to solve. Non of the 3 makes Outlook inoperable but cumulatively they are annoying.
In order of importance.

1) I attempted to set up a POP3 account in Outlook using the auto configure setup. The setup failed so I tried install using the manual configure. It tells me that an account by that name already exists-use a different name. The original failed account setup is not visible. How do I find it and delete it and then re-install using the original name.

2) The send/receive button on the main ribbon does not work. I receive email fine when I open outlook or the auto send/receive is activated every 30 minutes. Nothing happens when I select the ribbon button or the quick access bar. I know it is not active in the background since I click the show progress button and there is not activity.

3) Mail 32bit does not work on the control panel. On a search for fixes for the first 2 problems many suggestions are to change or altering the profile. When I try to access the profile through the control panel nothing happens when I click on "Mail (32bit)" .

There doesn't seem to be a repair function for outlook 2010 as with previous versions. I don't want to completely re-install unless I have to. I have 4 PoP3 accounts set up (can't get that 5th installed) each with its own pst file.

For number One : Go to Control Panel - Mail .. you will find Date File and Account .. from there you can delete the exist account .
For number Two : Send and Receive problem .. try to open the outlook in the safe mode and test it ( Press Ctrl ) and open the outlook .. but i think send and receive problem related to the first problem ??
IF the Mail 32 bit doesn't work then Repair your Windows .. The sfc /scannow command (System File Checker) ..

Thanks Exlans. I did the outlook repair using the original install disk and that fixed the mail 32bit access thru the control panel.
However when the offending account is not there but it still won't let me create it using the original name-says it a duplicate.
Not that I have access I guess i could try deleting the entire profile and re-install the 5 email accounts but there should be another way. Is there perhaps a registry entry that is holding the original email account name? I could delete it there?

Well this opened a can of worms. I ran sfc /scannow and found a huge number of un-repairable corrupt files. At what point do I do a installation repair of Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit?

Hey CJB4 .. Did you tried to Reinstall the Office 2010 again not Repairing it .. and Try to delete or move the PST files from their places .. and Stay away from Registry now try to uninstall the Office 2010 .. from everywhere by uninstall tools from Microsoft Office 2010 or by Uninstalling Tools like a Prefect Uninstaller .. and then open your Mail from control panel and check is there any Email Accounts or Data Files or Any Profiles .. and then Reinstall your Outlook 2010 .. and add your accounts from the Mail-32 ..


The Point of doing the Repair step is to fix any corrupted files in your Windows .. your System should be a clean and fixed one .. cause any corrupted files may case many problems in your System ..

Well that was fun
Uninstalled Office 2010 from the control panel
checked mail(32bit) for any remaining accounts--mail (32 bit) no longer there
re-installed office 2010
(had to activate by phone) boy was that fun
re-installed all 5 accounts including the one that wouldn't install
4 of the 5 worked
the 5th seemed to work (sent a test message) but did not receive one.
send/receive button does not worK
ahgggg this is very frustrating
must be a registry issue
any thoughts?
