Three problems...

Hello everyone...

I have two problems, so I'll start with the first one (Duh!)

I always leave my laptop to hibernate every night, and the next day when I switch it on it comes on (the power button light comes on) and I don't hear the "hum" I normally hear from my laptop; I get no display output too. I get it every time and to properly boot it up I have to hold down the power button and turn it back on, I notice this only happens when I leave it overnight - It doesn't happen when I reboot or anything of a short time period, what do you think the problem is? This might be related to the SECOND problem..

After the above happens, when it starts booting up I get a weird clicking sound, after doing some searching I noticed that it might be a HD problem (Hard drive, not high def)
I do boot properly though, I don't get a lockup..(read problem three)

Sometimes when my laptop boots, I get a lockup, I confirm this by pressing Fn+F7 (since this toggles screen display, and holding flickers [intentional flicker] ), it doesn't work. I have noticed whenever I keep making my screen flicker it DOES NOT lockup, only when I don't press any keys it locks up. This happens after the boot screen (the swirly thing) and before the login request shows (although sometimes it locks up on the login screen, before my picture and password edit shows)

Argh, I don't want to lose my laptop :'( What can I dooooo....

I think you should backup anything important, pronto, and get the hard drive checked and replaced if necessary.

sounds like a hd issue my friend. especially if you leave your computer on hibernating all night. yeah do a backup asap and try to replace the hd.

...leave your computer on hibernating all night...

*chuckles*...Do you realize what you just said there?

LOL.

Yeah, I suppose it is a HDD issue, but today I haven't got a single problem (no clicking). I will backup the laptop just in case, I would't want to replace the hdd of a 5 year old laptop when I'm going to buy a new laptop soon.
