Thumbnail of just the first page of a PDF

Hi All, I am looking for some thing like when I change the View in Win 7 to extra large icon. It would display the first page of all the pdf files in that folder. Do I need some settings or need to install any app for that. Thanks.

UPDATE:
In this context to solve the issue, I came across 2 links
Fixes for 64-bit Adobe Reader preview handler and thumbnails and http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/104181-customizing-folders.html.

I did not installed the fix as it has already mentioned "The preview handler fix should no longer be required for Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and above.......". And the version on my laptop is 9.4.1.

Then from the second link I gave a try to PDF-XChange Viewer. But still the icon are not coming as 1.

Any thing missing guys.....

When you install PDF-XCHANGE you need to tick the box for the extensions. Then you will get your cover previews, and you can also view the PDF files in the preview pane of explorer;




This will allow you to see the cover previews when you choose the views "Medium", "Large". or "Extra Large Icons".

I have only ever used the installed version, so I don't know what the portable version might need. The installed version wont give you previews etc. without the extensions being installed.

The extensions were once available separately, but now they are in the new version downloads. ( Don't know if they are in the "portable" downloads).

Just by the way, I tried a lot of different programs/option to get this functionality, and PDF-XCHANGE is the only one that works consistently and well.

If you have a large number of PDF files in a directory, it may take a moment for the icons/previews all to be loaded. In a directory with about 700 PDF books it takes several seconds to load them all on my machine. This is not really a problem.

Finally, the preview pane in explorer will give you the functionality of the PDF-XCHANGE controls shown, with one small exception/bug. You can not enter a page number to jump to automatically. All the other controls shown work as expected.
