I've been using T-Bird for about a year ( when COX decided it wouldn't support Outlook , and needed more secure ports. cox also trying to get out of the email business, and if you have ane unused account , about 6 months or so , maybe 3 now, they'll just kill it for you ) Anyway:

A Recent upgrade to Thunderbird 115.6 (and the previous 115.5 + had this problem) , -:> it will not attach to the Cox pop server to retrieve email. Note on screen , " no messages to download. I see 40 emails sitting on the cox server, and were retrieved by Outlook.
( Both have leave on server for 2 days.)

T- Bird pop port 995 ssl/tls / smtp port 465 ( Just tested T-Bird Send, and it went through, and my old Outlook received it.

Outlook 2003 - Wouldn't work on "secure" ports ( 995 / 465 ) until I reverted to ports 110 and 25, now it sends and receives like a champ!

I Would like to get T-Bird functional again - Can I retro install a prior version?
If so, Which one ( version) , process to do, and where to get it fromst? Thanks

Tried the IMAP / 993, but no luck.

No luck on T-Bird.. "message is" no messages to download. I checked the server, there are 62 sitting there.
Outlook 2003 got them all with pop port 110.

I did go IMAP on my phone for 1 account, and it works there.

So, how can I get an older version of T-Bird, that works, and how to install with out losing everything, data wise.
Help appreciated.

RE-Edit : I found all the emails in the JUNK folder. 303. I went through and unmarked the junk flag on each one. Then moved the cleared ones to the appropriate email account ( I have 4 on this instance. )

BUT & However ?? When it moved , say 124 messages from junk to the email account - at the very top ( sorted by date ) there were now 124 blank instances with a date of DEC 31, 1969 - and hovering over the blank fields, they were all 124 instances of the last email in the group moved to the appropriate account.
WTHell is causing THAT? AND Where the heck do I fix that logic flaw that has marked every new email as JUNK??? ( maybe some were ) Help would be REALLY appreciated. ( OH, They should all have been captured with a POP3 ( vs IMAP) Thanks

Edit again - I believe I may have found the adaptive Junk /Spam option in the settings area. I have unchecked that, and I'll see if Cox can feed Thunderbird now. I suppose I could try the IMAP option again, just for the hell of it. Thanks for the input.

re-re-edit - No joy on the imap option - but back to pop and the test message came through.. Like whatev...
