Timed Shortcut for sleep/hibernation?

What I really want is to have two icons on my desktop: one for hibernate and one for sleep.

Here's this one, I don't see one for the other yet.

What exactly are you referring to here? Who turns off Hybrid Sleep and how?

Unless I'm missing something here, I don't see how turning off Hybrid Sleep pertains to the question at hand or my response of disabling hibernation to enable the command to put the computer into sleep mode. Simply turning off Hybrid Sleep as you've posted will not put the computer into Sleep mode via the command previously posted. You still have to disable hibernation.

Am I missing something else?

I suppose you didn't read the link then. Turning off Hybrid Sleep allows you to choose between Hibernate OR Sleep, instead of just Hybrid Sleep (Sleep).

And, again, the ability to choose between the two does not allow you to use the previously defined Sleep shortcut my post responded to. Hibernation needs to be turned off, regardless of your option to enable or disable Hybrid Sleep, for the shortcut to put the computer into Sleep mode. I'm not sure how else to explain this.

I have (previously) had both shortcuts for hibernate and sleep on my desktop. They both worked for their respective uses (though sleep will not start back up), and I did NOT need to disable Hibernate.

Unfortunately, I don't remember how to set them back up, but Google should pull through.

You are saying that that particular command will put the computer into Hibernate unless hibernate is disabled, at which point it will set it to sleep instead?

That would make more sense. Though I know there should be a separate command to set it to sleep mode.

Yes! Haha. Thank you! And my post was addressing the use of a singular shortcut for both, in which you'd have to disable hibernation entirely for the same command to put the computer into sleep mode.

I completely agree that there should be two separate commands to make things easier, which led me to the follow up post in which I posted two batch files for automating this process of putting it into sleep or hibernate.

Oh you meant a SINGLE shortcut! Yeah, I don't think that is possible (aside from hitting start > and choosing).
