Tiny issue with Steam

I have a slight problem with Steam and windows 7. On the taskbar the chunky icon at the bottom displays Steam with the Team Fortress 2 icon (first game i installed on Steam) I'll make the problem obvious witha screenshot.

I have the same problem but my icon is L4D. I didn't really notice until now, I'll take a look around and see if I can figure it out.

Have you right clicked on the shortcut and tried to change the icon to the steam default icon.

The desktop shortcut. I have changed and then pinned to the taskbar. But when i click it to launch from the taskbar it opens a new item on the taskbar with the TF2 icon rather than the steam icon.

Found a solution. Pin it to taskbar restart pc then launch it from the taskbar first before anything else.
