To clarify my answer, while you are right that developers should deliver finished games, unfortunately that isn't the reality we live in, thus my statement....

Personally speaking any gamer should know they should have the latest patch installed for any game, especially if they're having issues with it.

and our disagreement...

I disagree, I'm afraid..

if a game is sold as a working product, it should work straight away
with a minimum of fuss - patching should be automatic and not
depend on the buyer having to dig through programs to force them to work correctly..

- if I could sue them, I wouldn't hesitate - it's false marketing..:mad:

All is cool though? :)

Hi vet, thanks for the feedback but please note...

Please note this is a guide for troubleshooting game issues. It is not a thread to fixing those issues. You'll need to create a seperate thread for your own game issue.
====================================================

OK, We see lots posts about problems with games that won’t run, have bad performance, or simply won’t install under Windows 7. The purpose of this post is to provide some simple tips on troubleshooting basic game issues. It is not all inclusive, nor is it meant to be, considering there are hundreds of things to try when troubleshooting PC games. This is simply a reminder of some basics.

That said, you might post your solution here in your original thread. It'll also help others who may be having the same issue.

Thanks.

Hi fantail. Thanks for the suggestion, but if I added a fix for everything out there this list would be phenomenally long and hard navigate through. It's already a bit longer than I intended as is meant to be somewhat general in nature.

Now if you feel you want to create a list of your own that's cool, but this is not the post for it.

Thanks for you understanding.

My CD of Medieval Total War 2 won't load from desktop icons or in-folder 'startup' icons; I have to go to the physical CD and select 'play' from the installer menu. This only started about a month after the game had been installed. Any ideas?
