G'day,
Why is it that when I set my "window color and appearance" colors in a Windows 7 Basic theme they don't change? The desktop color is fine but the borders and title bars take on a color that has nothing to do with what I set. No matter what I do, I can't can't get this feature to work. It states in the pop-up window that "colors and sizes selected here apply only if you have selected a Windows Basic theme..." Well, I did that and clicked "apply" and they didn't apply. I'm brand new to Win 7 so I suppose I'm doing something wrong. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks up front.

Cheers,
Fritz

Window Color and Appearance has little or no affect on Windows 7 basic theme it will work on Windows Classic theme.
The only way to change the color on a Windows 7 basic theme is to find a custom theme where the theme maker has done the basic part of the theme to.
It sounds confusing but the basic theme is based off the aero.msstyles which is the default aero theme.
I hope this helps understand it.
If you need more info let me know.
Jerry

Thanks for the replys, gents. I'm using Win 7 Home Premium 64bit and I don't use Aero because 1) It screws up some of my Flight Simulator airplanes and 2) I don't like it.

Thanks, Jerry, from all else that I can find about it, you're right. It should say so in the pop-up, though, I think, rather than saying the reverse. Poor show, my view.

Thanks, again.

Cheers,
Fritz

You do know that you can enable Aero, then open Properties for the Flight Simulator shortcut, open the compatibility tab and tick the check box 'Disable Desktop Composition', which will disable Aero automatically when running the game, and re-enable it when you close the game.

Yes, thanks, Slasher, I do know that. I still don't like Aero, though.
