It's 4:25 AM at the moment. My insomnia has been really bad lately. I simply can't sleep.
For over two months now it has been the same almost every night. We go to bed together, talk a bit, read, socialize in an adult way, then lights off. In 10 minutes or so I can hear Angie has fallen asleep. I try, I really try, feeling sleepy and tired but can't sleep. After an hour or hour and a half later I give up, get to study, pour myself a small whisky and watch TV, read and surf until between 5 or 6 AM, go back to bed, finally fall asleep for an hour or so until the alarm wakes me up at 8.
Late afternoon when home I nap for an hour, max 75 minutes. If on the road, no napping. An average day I sleep about three hours, half of that at night, half late afternoon or early evening. Every 8 to 12 days my body is so totally exhausted it gives up and I sleep one night better, 8 to 10 hours. Then the cycle starts again.
I've suffered of insomnia a few years. I was so happy when it "went away" last summer and I slept almost like a normal person for a few months, 5, 6 even 7 hours every night. Then it was back, late October. Yes, I have tried about every possible medicine, real ones and "it works if you believe in it" stuff (homeopathic pseudo medicine). Hypnotherapy, everything.
I just hope I could sleep normally.
