My first ISP was with Earthlink.. dial-up.. slow as mud.. then came .. sbcglobal.net.. DSL
sure was a lot better.. then an upgrade.. faster again.. then a new upgrade that was
supposed to be better..but one had to be no less than 1 mile from the office.. I tried it ..
my pages just sat there spinning around.. so I dropped back to the the 1st upgrade to dsl... my cable company doesn't offer internet..

Before broadband I had a 25k/sec dial up... :shock:

I don't remember life before broadband.

It wasn't pretty...

No it was not. I was not able to get ADSL until 2003 and cable is still not available in that rural area. Other than dialup, the only option was satellite and that was way too expensive.

Not to mention lost connections during a rain/snow storm....

Exactly. We did have TV via satellite and the rain storms would wash out the signal.

I agree and I usually don't get into any political discussions. I think i started that one with my post yesterday. I just didn't think about what I was saying...

I know the forum rules and abide by them... and then I slipped.

I see no problem with venting once in a while.
It cleanses the soul.
Politics is on everyone's mind with the state of our entire Economy.
So, in my opinion, no harm no foul! IMHO
