Solved tom982 - sfc /scannow unable to repair missing ATL80.dll file

I can't thank you enough, that almost everything seems to be working well at this point! Except - there was another oddity that may have been totally unrelated, though it is now resolved.

The Ctrl-P option to print a web page to a PDF had begun to present a problem. The print menu would show up and allow me to make selections, but after pressing "Print", there was no further display asking for a file name, or for a location for the pdf to be saved. Pressing "Print" was just prematurely ending the whole operation. I use CutePDF Writer and had never had a problem with it in the past, but it is now working well again after I re-installed it. The timing of this makes me wonder if its (brief) failure was related to the dll problem.

Again, I am so thankful for your kind help, and for now having a clean CBS log!

CutePDF has its own problems - I never really got it to operate the way it is supposed to and gave up.
Most machines have a print to XPS option - and that works better for me.
