Too many system restore points ?

When I open system restore and click more restore points...I get about 60 different restore points dating back to last June.

In CCleaner...theree are only about 10 dating back to last week ?

Are these 5 dozen restore points a problem and is there a way to get rid of them without losing all recent restore points ?

It seems ccleaner is only showing you the shadows stored on your boot partition.

Are the others for other partitions?

If you change the amount allocated to storing System Restore points it will delete the older ones, have a look at this tutorial at the link below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

I personally feel about 4GB is enough space to store SR points, that gives you around 2 weeks worth if a point is created daily.


Then have a look at this tutorial to automatically create SR points as often as needed; to me I prefer Method Two, just set it and forget it.

The Boot partition is the partition that your computer boots from, Usually the C: drive. If you have more then one partition or drive, then System Restore may be storing more points for those drives. Shadow is a shadow copy, another word for a System Restore point.
